David B. Cox

David Barnette Cox, 64, of Raleigh, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Mr. Cox was born on April 10, 1948 in Raleigh NC to Nesbitt Harold Cox and Grace Barnette Cox. He attended NC State University and was President of Micro Technology Unlimited. 

He is survived by his wife: K. Lynne Cox; sons: B. Bryan Cox and wife Stephanie and Douglas E. Cox and wife Katie all of Raleigh; daughter: Kristen E. Cox of Denver, CO; stepson: Will Hall of Cedar Grove, NC; brother: Donald N. Cox and wife Judy of Belfast, ME and 5 grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved pet, Belle. 

David is predeceased by his parents: N. Harold Cox and Grace Barnette Cox; brother, Thomas Allen Cox, and sister, Diane Cox Harrison. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Friday, May 25, 2012 at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612. A memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home.

David T. (Tim) Clancy

David was a great guy.  I did not know him well in HS but got to know him when he rented space in an office next to us in the mid 70's.  He had an audio business providing sound to businesses and clubs too, I think.  I bought a set of mammoth speakers from him  which my stepdaughter took away when she went to college in the mid 90's.  I'm thinking that Hal Chamberlain, also in our class, may have been in businewss with him at that time.  He was an upbeat sunny guy.

Also, he was in my kindergarten class at White Memorial School.
