So very sad to hear of Sprague's passing. We were partners in crime in Mrs. Dickey's 5th grade class at Aldert Root. Fate had us sitting one behind the other in her class. We spent more time talking and cutting up than listening to the teacher, but Mrs. Dickey got the last laugh as we were given D's in Conduct. I don't know how Sprague's father reacted but my Dad was not happy with me. I don't know why Mrs. Dickey didn't just put us on opposite sides of the room. I remember Sprague went to the Citadel in Charleston. I was always impressed with that. For those not familiar, the Citadel is a no nonsense military academy. Sprague must have got the military influence from his Dad, whom I believe was a former Marine. R.I.P. Sprague.
I was so saddened to hear of Sprague’s passing. He was always a great guy. Steady as a rock! He was my first boyfriend back in Seventh grade. Although I have not kept up With him all these years, I was so happy to hear that he and JoAnna Preston were reunited later in their lives.
